Frameworks for the Russian Radio Sputnik’s website addressing the issues of the Corona pandemic in Iraq

The study aimed to identify the frameworks of handling news on the Corona virus (COVID-19) and its repercussions in Iraq. It analyzed the news published on the website of the Russian radio station ‘Sputnik’ for the period from 1/5/2020 to 31/7/2020. Only 166 samples of the study, out of the 831 news pieces published about Iraq, were analyzed. The researcher reached several findings, the most important of which was that the news coverage of Sputnik Radio focused on the Corona virus in Iraq, bringing it in third place after the news coverage of both security and political issues. The news coverage of Corona virus in Iraq
ranked first among the journalistic arts adopted by the website in its coverage, followed by the news report in the second place, and then came the features in the third place. With regard to the frameworks of personalities, the Iraqi personalities came in the first rank, followed by the unidentified personalities in the second rank, while foreign personalities ranked third. The radio relied on non-medical personalities in the coverage and thus It came at the first place.
